Before You Start
Who can apply
- At least 21 years old
- Both of you hold a valid passport; at least one holds a driving licence
- No disqualifying criminal record — background checks are conducted
- Citizen or permanent resident of any African country
- Physically and mentally able to engage safely in the race’s challenges
- An existing relationship — family, friends, a couple, or workmates
- Full availability for the race and its associated activities
- A respectful, responsible personal history
- Comfortable adapting to diverse environments and cultures
- Basic communication in English or Swahili is an advantage
A medical condition doesn’t automatically disqualify you — it just needs to not put you or others at risk during the race. As part of selection, you may be asked for a short video introduction and, in some cases, a virtual interview.
